On April 18, 2025, Morelle expressed his concerns regarding proposed budget cuts to the USDA, which he believes threaten vital community services. He tweeted, "Food banks are a lifeline for our community's most vulnerable—and now they're under threat from cruel, short-sighted cuts to the USDA."

Later the same day, Morelle shared a call to action against policies he describes as harmful. In a tweet, he urged constituents to stay informed about his ongoing efforts by stating, "Hear about my work to fight back against the dangerous actions of the Trump Administration over the past few weeks with my weekly wrap-up."

On the following day, April 19, 2025, Morelle criticized the SAVE Act.
