Congressman Joseph Morelle, who has represented New York's 25th district in the U.S. Congress since 2018, has actively engaged with constituents and voiced his opinions on prominent issues through social media platforms. Morelle, who had a longstanding career in the New York State Assembly before joining Congress, recently addressed several topics of national concern including public health, the arts, and voting rights.

On April 16, 2025, Morelle highlighted his concerns about the measles outbreak in the United States by criticizing the political response at the governmental level. Morelle stated, "We’re facing one of the worst measles outbreaks in U.S. history — yet the Trump administration refuses to put children’s safety ahead of politics. Even one case is too many. I’m committed to fighting back and keeping our kids safe and healthy."

Addressing the arts, on April 17, 2025, Morelle reminded his community about the conclusion of the submission period for the 2025 Congressional Art Competition. He emphasized the honor of having the winning piece displayed in a prestigious location, saying, "Tomorrow is the last day to send in submissions for the 2025 Congressional Art Competition! The winning piece will be showcased in the United States Capitol for the next year, representing the artistic talents of our community."

In another post from April 17, 2025, Morelle voiced his opposition to the SAVE Act, describing it as an impediment to women's voting rights. He asserted, "The SAVE Act would make it harder for nearly 70 million women to vote. Why? Because if you changed your name after marriage, your ID might no longer qualify. This isn’t about security—it’s about voter suppression."

Joseph Morelle, a graduate of the State University of New York at Geneseo, was born in Utica, New York in 1957 and currently resides in Irondequoit.
