Joe Morelle criticizes Trump administration's handling of classified information

Joseph Morelle, a U.S. Congressman representing New York's 25th district, has expressed concerns and legislative initiatives through recent social media posts. Serving since 2018 after succeeding Louise Slaughter, Morelle continues to engage in political discourse and policy-making.

On March 24, 2025, Morelle criticized the handling of classified military plans by President Trump's team. He stated that "The discussion of classified military plans on a private texting app is unacceptable. President Trump’s team continues to display incompetence at the highest level. This behavior puts American service members at risk and reveals just how little the Administration cares for the".

The following day, March 25, 2025, Morelle highlighted his commitment to legislation aimed at supporting caregivers. He emphasized that "Our legislation would help provide stability for caregivers and ensure they have the same benefits provided to other members of our workforce." Additionally, he affirmed his willingness to collaborate across party lines: "I’m ready to work across the aisle to get this done. Supporting our veterans and their caregivers isn’t a partisan issue—it’s the right".

Further addressing veteran support, Morelle announced his co-authorship of new bipartisan legislation with Rep Ciscomani on March 25, 2025. He stated: "Veteran caregivers give their all to support those who’ve served our country—it’s our duty to support them, too." He added: "I’ve authored the bipartisan Veteran Caregiver RRR Act with @RepCiscomani—to ensure they get the benefits and protections they deserve."
