The following day, March 14, 2025, Morelle criticized the Trump Administration's approach to Social Security. He stated: "Actions speak louder than words. The Trump Administration said they wouldn't cut Social Security, but it's clear that was nothing more than lip service. Gutting Social Security's staff IS cutting care, and it will have direct impacts on the benefits our seniors rely on."
Later that same day, he addressed the issue of veteran services in another tweet: "Standing up for our veterans and fighting back against attempts to cut the services they rely on is not fear mongering; it's just the right thing to do."
