On February 22, 2025, Morelle expressed his appreciation for visiting the Canandaigua VA Medical Center. He noted the importance of this visit by stating "I enjoyed the opportunity to tour the Canandaigua VA Medical Center yesterday afternoon to see firsthand the work they’re doing to support our veterans." He also mentioned his commitment to working with Ontario County as part of his Congressional district.

Later that day, Morelle criticized former President Trump’s actions regarding Ukraine. He tweeted on February 22, 2025: "Since taking office, President Trump has actively undermined Ukraine and counteracted the years of support the United States has provided." He emphasized that Trump's claims about Ukraine being responsible for its conflict with Russia were false.

In another tweet on February 22, 2025, Morelle addressed concerns about resource allocation under Trump's administration. He remarked: "Abandoning the heroic first responders who put themselves at risk on one of our nation's darkest days is not a meaningful way to make our government more 'efficient.'" This comment was directed at budget cuts affecting first responders while tax breaks were prioritized.
