29 percent of applicants to the University of Rochester were admitted for fall 2018

At the University of Rochester, 94 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 50 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Rochester enrolled 11,817 students in fall 2018, including 6,535 in undergraduate and 5,282 in graduate programs, data shows. 1.4 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

24 percent of undergraduates are residents of New York, and 39 percent are residents of other states. 37 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (42 percent) and Asian (11 percent).

The school admitted 29 percent of the 21,255 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 24 percent enrolled.
