Governor Hochul's recent State of the State address has drawn criticism from Assemblyman Josh Jensen, who expressed skepticism about the governor's promises. According to Jensen, New Yorkers have repeatedly heard similar commitments about affordability and safety without seeing significant change.

"Governor Hochul’s State of the State address was yet another speech filled with promises that New Yorkers have heard time and time again," said Jensen. He highlighted that despite optimistic goals to return money to taxpayers, the governor introduced proposals that would use those funds elsewhere.

Jensen emphasized that pressing issues in the state remain unresolved, impacting communities adversely. He stated his willingness to collaborate with Governor Hochul and legislative colleagues on proposals he supports but vowed to oppose plans that might compromise public safety or fiscal stability in New York.

"I’m prepared to work with the governor and my colleagues in the Assembly and Senate on today’s proposals that I support," Jensen remarked. He added his intent to "push back against plans that will jeopardize the safety of New Yorkers and jeopardize the long-term fiscal health of the Empire State and the families and businesses that call it home."
