Management Monday: Fall Lawn Conservation!
It definitely feels like fall this morning, so what better time to talk about doing your part in fall conservation. In no time your lawns will be blanketed by leaves, and while you may want to just burn your leaves for ease of getting rid of it, burning leaves is actually illegal in NY state. Burning leaves also adds to air pollution.
A better use for your leaves is using the leaves for composting or mulch. Mowing over your leaves will speed up their decomposition time, and these shredded leaves can even act as natural fertilizer for your lawn as they decompose. The shredded leaves can also act as mulch for flower and vegetable gardens, and will increase soil health.
