Tom Reed for Congress issued the following announcement on May 14
Yesterday, Rep. Reed traveled across New York state to celebrate the work that has been done to position the Finger Lakes and Southern Tier regions for reopening on Friday, as well as call on the Governor to work with state officials on common-sense public health strategies to get all of Western New York and its communities safely back to work as soon as possible.
“Moving forward, we have to implement a more flexible approach to reopening that takes into account the economic and public health differences across Upstate New York’s many counties and encourages greater inter-regional cooperation. By facilitating resource sharing, we can ensure regions have a better chance of meeting health metrics and avoiding additional shutdowns,” said Tom.
Tom continued, “I care deeply about the communities and families facing unprecedented economic challenges right now. It is only fair officials at every level of government do everything they can to get all communities up and running again.”
