On Sunday, Feb. 16, former Penfield High School standout Gage Wheaton’s current college team, the Niagara Purple Eagles, lost 11-1 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Miami Hurricanes.

The game took place at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field. This was their third matchup against the Hurricanes this season.

The Purple Eagles’ next game is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 21 at 4 p.m. at Ting Stadium against Purdue Boilermakers.
