U.S. Congressman Joseph Morelle, representing New York’s 25th district since 2018, highlighted community investment and accessibility initiatives in a series of tweets posted on July 25 and July 26, 2025.
On July 25, Morelle commended local efforts to support the community, writing, “Programs like the Monroe County Library’s Wired for Connection initiative create opportunities for our community. Alongside the leadership of @CountyExecBello, this represents exactly what we should be investing in: people, families, and our future.”
The following day, he addressed recent improvements to accessibility at the Capitol complex: “We continue this promise with the recent addition of an ADA-compliant ramp for those who need it on the Capitol complex. Proud to have worked alongside my colleagues on @HouseAdm_Dems on this effort.” On the same date, he marked a milestone in disability rights legislation: “35 years ago today, the ADA was signed into law. Without @RepStenyHoyer’s leadership, we wouldn’t have been able to transform our country and allow millions of Americans to participate in public life with the dignity and respect they deserve.”
Joseph Morelle has served as U.S. Representative since succeeding Louise Slaughter in 2018. Before his tenure in Congress, he represented his community in the New York State Assembly from 1991 until his election to Congress. Born in Utica in 1957 and currently residing in Irondequoit, Morelle is a graduate of SUNY Geneseo.
