Joseph Morelle, a U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 25th district, recently shared his views on social media regarding actions by former President Donald Trump and upcoming media appearances. Morelle, who has been serving in Congress since 2018 after succeeding Louise Slaughter, continues to voice concerns about national political issues.

On May 21, 2025, Joe Morelle announced an upcoming appearance on SiriusXM POTUS with Laura Coates. He invited followers to “Join me live tomorrow morning around 8:00am with @thelauracoates on @siriusxmpotus to discuss Trump’s continued unconstitutional and illegal assault on Congress.”

Later that day, Morelle expressed criticism towards Donald Trump concerning healthcare and foreign dealings. He stated that “Trump wants to kick millions off their health care—while accepting a $400 million ‘gift’ from a foreign government that could cost taxpayers over $1 billion to fix. This is corruption at the highest level.”

On the morning of May 22, 2025, Morelle reminded his audience of his imminent interview with Laura Coates by tweeting “I’ll be live with @thelauracoates on @siriusxmpotus in just a few minutes. Tune in!” Joseph Morelle was born in Utica, New York in 1957 and resides in Irondequoit. He earned a BA from the State University of New York at Geneseo in 1986.
