Joseph Morelle, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 25th district, shared several activities he participated in over recent days, as announced on social media.
On April 22, 2025, Joe Morelle expressed his satisfaction with attending the groundbreaking ceremony for Monroe Community College’s new Advanced Technologies Center. Morelle highlighted its significance, noting, “This building will help make sure students have the skills they need to thrive—skills that will ultimately drive our economy and benefit our community. Congratulations, MCC!” The ceremony marks a milestone for the college in advancing educational opportunities related to technical skills.
Later that same day, Morelle detailed a visit to meet with seniors at St. Ann’s Community. He emphasized his efforts in Congress to safeguard Medicare and Social Security programs amidst strategic changes by the previous administration. As mentioned in his post, “While the Trump administration targets Medicare and Social Security, I’m standing up for older Americans—in Rochester and across the country.”
On April 23, 2025, Morelle acknowledged the Rochester Community Players’ centennial season. During his visit, he delivered a Congressional Record in their honor. He referred to the group as a pivotal element of the local cultural scene, stating, “It was a joy to visit the Rochester Community Players today and present them with a Congressional Record honoring their 100th season! For a full century, this group has been a cornerstone of Rochester’s artistic community.”
Joseph Morelle, born in 1957 in Utica, serves New York’s 25th Congressional District since 2018 after succeeding Louise Slaughter. Before his current role, he was a member of the New York State Assembly from 1991 to 2018.
