Joe Morelle, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 25th district since 2018, posted a series of messages on his Twitter account between February 14 and February 15, 2026, highlighting community engagement and commenting on national voting rights debates.
On February 14, Morelle shared his participation in a local initiative honoring veterans: “We had the honor of delivering Valentine’s cards to @VOCROC, a small token of appreciation for the men and women who have served our country. Thank you to everyone who participated in my office’s Valentine’s for Veterans program and helped make this possible.” The post reflects ongoing efforts by Morelle’s office to recognize veterans through community-driven programs.
Later that day, he addressed the broader meaning of Valentine’s Day with another message: “On Valentine’s Day, we celebrate love, and that includes love for our neighbors, our community, and the values that bring us together. Today, I’m especially grateful for this incredible community. From my family to yours, Happy Valentine’s Day!”
On February 15, Morelle commented on election integrity issues at the national level: “There is no evidence of widespread voter fraud or non-citizen voting in America. The SAVE America Act claims to fix a problem that doesn’t exist, while putting the voting rights of millions of eligible Americans at risk.”
Joseph Morelle has represented New York’s 25th District in Congress since succeeding Louise Slaughter in 2018. Before joining Congress, he served in the New York State Assembly from 1991 to 2018. Born in Utica in 1957 and currently residing in Irondequoit, Morelle graduated from the State University of New York at Geneseo with a BA in 1986.
