Joseph Morelle, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 25th district, used his social media platform on November 6, 2025, to highlight local community initiatives and express his positions on national political issues.
In a post from November 6, Morelle encouraged participation in a local food drive: “Join our community this Saturday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. at Innovative Field for an Emergency Food Network Food Donation Drive! Together, we’re supporting efforts to fight hunger and help families in crisis.” This event aims to support those facing food insecurity in the area.
Later that day, Morelle addressed the topic of mail-in voting and former President Donald Trump’s stance on election processes: “The one thing Trump really fears is the people’s voice—mail-in-voting has been a safe and secure part of our elections since the Civil War. The people of California have spoken, Mr. President. It’s time to listen.”
In another statement posted on November 6, Morelle criticized tariffs imposed by former President Trump and emphasized Congressional authority over such decisions: “Trump’s reckless tariffs hurt our communities and do nothing to lower costs for hardworking families. Proud to have joined an amicus brief in this case arguing the Constitution grants Congress, not the president, the sole authority to impose tariffs.”
