Joseph Morelle, a U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 25th district, shared his thoughts on various topics through recent tweets. Morelle has been serving in Congress since 2018 after succeeding Louise Slaughter and has a background in the New York State Assembly from 1991 to 2018.
On June 6, 2025, Morelle commemorated the anniversary of D-Day with a tweet acknowledging the historical significance of the event. He stated, “On this day in 1944, Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy, marking the beginning of the end of World War II. We honor the courage of the heroes of D-Day—and remember those who gave the last full measure of devotion to defend liberty and shape a freer world.”
Later that same day, Morelle made a statement regarding deal-making and financial stability. He tweeted, “I don’t claim to be the greatest dealmaker ever, but I’ve never gone bankrupt…” on June 6, 2025.
On June 7, 2025, Morelle emphasized his support for veterans in another tweet. He expressed that supporting veterans transcends political lines by saying, “Supporting our veterans is not a partisan issue—it’s an American issue. I was honored to speak with members of the Rochester American Legion and share updates on my work to uphold our commitment to service members—both during active duty and after they return home.”
Joseph Morelle was born in Utica, New York in 1957 and currently resides in Irondequoit. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from State University of New York at Geneseo.
