Joseph Morelle, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 25th district since 2018, shared a series of posts this week highlighting community events and notable figures in Rochester.
On July 24, Morelle visited the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum ahead of its new gallery openings. He stated, “This week, I had the joy of visiting the Smithsonian @airandspace museum ahead of the opening of five new galleries next week. I’m proud to support an institution that preserves our nation’s history and inspires a sense of adventure for generations to come.”
Later that day, Morelle expressed condolences on the passing of Chuck Mangione, a prominent jazz musician from Rochester. In his post dated July 24, he wrote, “I join our community in mourning the loss of Chuck Mangione—jazz legend and proud son of Rochester. His contributions to jazz and to our city’s cultural legacy will never be forgotten. My thoughts are with his family, friends, and fans around the world.”
On July 25, Morelle celebrated local sports traditions by acknowledging the Buffalo Bills training camp hosted in Rochester at St. John Fisher University. He posted, “We always look forward to hosting the @BuffaloBills training camp here in Rochester at @FisherNews. Our community will be cheering them on all season long. #GoBills!”
Joseph Morelle has represented New York’s 25th District in Congress since succeeding Louise Slaughter in 2018 and previously served in the New York State Assembly from 1991 to 2018. Born in Utica in 1957 and currently residing in Irondequoit, Morelle is a graduate of SUNY Geneseo.
