Joe Morelle, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 25th district since 2018, marked the anniversary of the Head Start program and recognized a local student’s achievement in the Congressional Art Competition through a series of posts on May 18, 2026.
In his first post at 13:54 UTC, Morelle acknowledged the long-standing impact of Head Start, stating, “Since 1965, @HeadStartgov has helped give children the strong start they deserve. On its anniversary, we celebrate the educators, staff, and families who make this program possible, and recommit to protecting opportunities for every child to learn, grow, and thrive.”
Later that day at 18:09 UTC, Morelle congratulated a young artist from his district by posting: “Congratulations to this year’s Congressional Art Competition Winner, ‘Walk Along the Erie,’ by Manjing Luo, a 9th grader at @PCSDSutherland! This piece will hang in the halls of the Capitol for the next year, available for visitors from around the country to see.” He followed up with a link for additional information: “Read More: https://t.co/pVE9JZN8q5”
