U.S. Congressman Joseph Morelle, who represents New York’s 25th district, posted a series of updates on social media highlighting his recent activities in Congress and community engagement.
On April 15, Morelle announced the involvement of Rep. Nikema Williams as co-chair of the Anti-Corruption and Democracy Reform Task Force. He stated, “Proud to have @RepNikema as a co-chair on the Anti-Corruption and Democracy Reform Task Force. This is about restoring faith in government. A government of the people. By the people. For the people. We’re committed to doing the work to get there and we won’t back down.”
The following day, April 16, Morelle shared an update regarding a community event: “DEADLINE EXTENDED: We are now accepting submissions for the 2026 Congressional Art Competition through April 30th! Joseph Morelle has served in Congress since 2018 after succeeding Louise Slaughter and previously held office in the New York State Assembly from 1991 until his election to Congress. Born in Utica in 1957 and currently residing in Irondequoit, Morelle graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1986.
