Joe Morelle, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 25th district since 2018, recently shared updates about his activities and policy positions through several posts on social media.
On August 5, 2025, Morelle highlighted his visit to a local educational initiative: “I visited EnCompass’ summer learning program at @Nazuniversity where Rochester students are gaining skills and confidence and engaging with their community. Grateful to see their important work firsthand and proud to support programs that invest in our youth.”
Later the same day, he invited followers to tune into an upcoming media appearance: “Join me bright and early tomorrow morning, live on @WayTooEarly with @alivitali!”
On August 6, 2025, Morelle addressed national policy issues in another post: “Trump’s budget will make the cost of living crisis worse, raising costs for health care, food, and utilities—all to give billionaires tax breaks. Where should our focus really be? Supporting the hardworking families just trying to make ends meet.”
Joseph Morelle succeeded Louise Slaughter in Congress after her passing in 2018. Prior to serving in Congress, he was a member of the New York State Assembly from 1991 until his congressional election. Born in Utica in 1957 and currently residing in Irondequoit, Morelle holds a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo.
