On March 28, 2025, Morelle took to social media to express his disapproval of proposed budget cuts that would affect student meal programs. He emphasized the importance of feeding children, stating, “Feeding our nation’s children is not ‘waste.’ These cruel and shortsighted cuts will leave thousands of students without access to healthy meals.”

Later that day, Morelle commented on the implications of the SAVE Act, which he claims, would bring financial and logistical hardships. He remarked, “The SAVE Act, pushed by President Trump, would cost Americans billions of dollars, create burdens for women, pose unnecessary risks for election administrators, and make it incredibly difficult for eligible citizens to register to vote. Furthermore, Morelle voiced his concerns about potential threats to Social Security benefits under the Trump administration.
