Joseph Morelle, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 25th district, posted a series of statements on November 18, 2025, addressing issues ranging from energy assistance to the release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein.
In his first message of the day, Morelle highlighted concerns about rising energy costs for families in Rochester. He wrote, “Families in Rochester rely on the LIHEAP program to survive cold winters, especially as reckless tariffs threaten to increase energy costs. I agree with @GovKathyHochul: Donald Trump needs to stop playing around and release these life-saving funds.” (November 18, 2025)
Later that afternoon, Morelle called for transparency regarding files connected to Jeffrey Epstein. He stated, “President Trump could release the Epstein files today, he doesn’t need Congressional action to do it. The American people deserve some honesty, and some answers.” (November 18, 2025)
In a subsequent post the same evening, Morelle reiterated his support for making information public: “Americans have the right to know the truth, and the right to hold people accountable. That’s why I voted to release the Epstein files. I hope today’s vote starts the process in earnest.” (November 18, 2025)
Joseph Morelle has served in Congress since 2018 after succeeding Louise Slaughter. Prior to his current role, he was a member of the New York State Assembly from 1991 until his election to Congress in 2018. Born in Utica in 1957 and currently residing in Irondequoit, Morelle earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo in 1986.
