Joseph Morelle, currently serving as the U.S. Congressman for New York’s 25th district, shared his perspectives on various pressing issues through a series of tweets. Morelle, who succeeded Louise Slaughter in 2018 and has a long background in public service, used the social media platform to address concerns ranging from voter rights to economic and social welfare.

On April 1, 2025, Morelle expressed his position against a legislative proposal known as the SAVE Act. He stated, “The SAVE Act is a dangerous attempt to restrict voting rights. House Republicans came up short today, but this fight isn’t over. I’m standing up for every eligible American’s right to vote—no exceptions.”

Continuing his discourse on economic matters, on April 2, 2025, Morelle criticized former President Trump’s trade policies, specifically highlighting their impact on household expenses. He noted, “Trump’s trade war means higher costs for working families. Our communities need lower costs now.”

On the same day, Morelle turned his attention to issues affecting older citizens in his jurisdiction. He engaged in discussions with a local agency, underlining the need for enhanced support systems for seniors. Morelle tweeted, “Older Americans in our community face unique challenges—we owe it to them to provide the resources and support to age comfortably. Grateful to be joined by the Ontario County Office for the Aging to discuss how we can work together to uplift our seniors.”
