Joe Morelle, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 25th district since 2018, recently posted a series of statements on his official social media account addressing issues ranging from election integrity to local infrastructure funding.
On March 9, 2026, Morelle commented on the democratic process and concerns about former President Donald Trump’s actions regarding elections: “Voters choose us. We don’t choose the voters. Check out my latest Substack article on Donald Trump’s continued attacks on our elections.”
Later that evening, he criticized Trump’s foreign policy decisions and their impact on American families: “As always, American families are paying the price for Donald Trump’s reckless actions. Hard working people are suffering while he spends billions of dollars on his war with Iran.”
The following day, March 10, Morelle highlighted a federal investment in local infrastructure: “Proud to stand with the Town of Victor today to announce over $1M in federal funding to support critical infrastructure improvements along County Road 9. This investment will replace an aging sewer line that has failed multiple times and help protect the surrounding environment.”
Joseph Morelle succeeded Louise Slaughter in Congress after her passing in 2018 and previously served in the New York State Assembly from 1991 to 2018. Born in Utica, New York in 1957 and currently residing in Irondequoit, Morelle holds a BA from the State University of New York at Geneseo.
