Joe Morelle, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 25th district since 2018, has recently used his social media platform to address a range of local and national issues, including senior care, labor rights, and immigration policy.
On May 29, 2026, Morelle posted about his engagement with older adults at Cloverwood Senior Living. He stated, “Glad to be with the community at Cloverwood Senior Living to discuss the challenges older Americans face—from protecting Social Security and Medicare to lowering health care and prescription drug costs. Our seniors deserve dignity, security, and support in every stage of life.”
The following day, on May 30, 2026, Morelle visited Genesee Brewery alongside Teamsters Local 118. He highlighted the importance of organized labor in advocating for workers’ rights: “Great to visit @GeneseeBrewery with Teamsters Local 118. Teamsters have always fought for better pay, stronger benefits, safer workplaces, and economic opportunity for working families. I’m proud to support Rochester’s labor unions.”
Later that same day, Morelle addressed national immigration policy by criticizing the Trump Administration’s approach. He wrote, “The Trump Administration’s immigration claims are nothing but a lie. They are not going after the ‘worst of the worst,’ and they know it. They’re going after people who are simply trying to chase the American dream because it serves them politically.”
Joseph Morelle has served in Congress since replacing Louise Slaughter in 2018 after a long tenure in the New York State Assembly from 1991 through 2018. Born in Utica in 1957 and now residing in Irondequoit, Morelle holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY Geneseo (1986).
