Joe Morelle, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 25th district since 2018, has recently addressed issues of public trust and civil rights in a series of posts on his official Twitter account.
On January 18, 2026, Morelle commented on the relationship between politicians trading stocks and public confidence, stating: “When politicians trade stocks, they erode public trust. A collapse in public trust has serious consequences for our nation.”
The following day, January 19, 2026, he marked Martin Luther King Jr. Day by reflecting on Dr. King’s legacy: “Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Let us take a moment to reflect on his work and his words. As Dr. King reminded us: ‘The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.'”
