Joseph Morelle, a U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 25th district since 2018, has been vocal on social media about significant societal issues. His recent posts address themes of inclusion, tragedy, and economic struggle.
On June 1, 2025, Morelle commemorated Pride Month with a message of solidarity to the LGBTQ+ community. He expressed support by stating: “This #PrideMonth, we honor the ongoing struggle so many Americans face simply for being who they are. To our LGBTQ+ community: we see you, we support you, and we stand with you.”
Following a tragic event in Boulder on June 2, Morelle shared his condolences regarding an attack targeting Jewish community members. He tweeted: “I’m devastated by the horrific attack in Boulder today. The targeting of Jewish community members is an unbearable act of terror and hate. My thoughts are with the victims, their families, and the Jewish community in Boulder. We must confront and root out antisemitism wherever.”
In another post on June 2, he addressed economic concerns affecting Americans. He highlighted challenges faced by those struggling financially due to cuts in essential services: “Meanwhile, Americans already struggling to make ends meet are facing cuts to the services that just help them get by. We must protect our democracy from abuse of power.”
Joseph Morelle was born in Utica, New York in 1957 and currently resides in Irondequoit. He graduated from State University of New York at Geneseo with a BA in 1986.
