Joseph Morelle, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 25th district since 2018, addressed several national issues in a series of social media posts this week. Morelle commented on public health, election security, and economic policy through his official Twitter account.

On September 3, 2025, Morelle expressed concern about the impact of misinformation on public health. He stated, “Misinformation and political interference are putting Americans’ health at risk. The American people deserve leaders who listen to science, respect public health experts, and put facts over fear.”

Later that day, Morelle discussed voting rights and election integrity. In his post from September 3, he wrote, “Voting is the foundation of our democracy. Every eligible American should be able to cast their ballot—and have confidence that vote is counted. Despite their rhetoric—it’s clear my colleagues in @HouseGOP do not care about ensuring the safety and security of our elections.”

On September 4, 2025, Morelle criticized former President Donald Trump’s record on reducing costs for American families. He posted, “Trump continues to fail in his promise to bring down costs for hardworking American families.”

Joseph Morelle has represented New York’s 25th district in Congress since succeeding Louise Slaughter in 2018. Prior to his congressional service, he was a member of the New York State Assembly from 1991 to 2018. Born in Utica in 1957 and currently residing in Irondequoit, Morelle holds a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo.
