Joe Morelle, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 25th district since 2018, addressed a range of issues in a series of posts on March 10, 2026.
In one post, Morelle highlighted infrastructure improvements in Victor, stating on March 10: “Over the past 15 years, the existing sewer force main has failed five times, releasing untreated sewage and posing risks to public health and our local ecosystem. This funding will help Victor replace the outdated pipe with a modern, more reliable system built to last.”
Later that day, Morelle commented on proposed legislation regarding stock trading by members of Congress. On March 10 he wrote: “The legislation Trump is pushing is not a true stock trading ban. My discharge petition would bring the Restore Trust in Government Act to the House floor for an immediate vote so we can pass the kind of reform Americans want.”
On Harriet Tubman Day, Morelle paid tribute to Tubman’s contributions and her connection to Rochester. In his post from March 10 he said: “On Harriet Tubman Day, we honor her courage and the legacy she left in our community. After escaping slavery, she made Rochester a base for her work on the Underground Railroad, helping guide countless people to freedom. Her courage continues to inspire the fight for justice.”
Joseph Morelle succeeded Louise Slaughter in Congress after her passing in 2018 and previously served in the New York State Assembly from 1991 until his election to Congress. Born in Utica in 1957 and currently residing in Irondequoit, Morelle holds a BA from SUNY Geneseo.
