Joseph Morelle, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 25th district since 2018, addressed current national and international issues in a series of social media posts on October 10, 2025.
In one post, Morelle shared a link to his full statement, writing: “Read my full statement: https://t.co/mEBE0uc8NP” (October 10, 2025).
Later the same day, he commented on developments in the Middle East: “I’m hopeful the Gaza peace deal will bring the safe return of all hostages and lasting stability. I appreciate the diplomatic work that made this progress possible, and will keep advocating for a sustainable two state solution.” (October 10, 2025).
Addressing domestic policy issues in another post that evening, Morelle criticized congressional gridlock and its impact on healthcare access: “Day 10 of the Republican shutdown and we’ve made no progress on the healthcare crisis they created. American families are struggling with costs, they need support where it matters most. https://t.co/s621amImGd” (October 10, 2025).
Joseph Morelle has represented New York’s 25th District in Congress since replacing Louise Slaughter in 2018. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the New York State Assembly from 1991 to 2018. Born in Utica in 1957 and currently residing in Irondequoit, Morelle graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a BA degree in 1986.
