Joe Morelle, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 25th district since 2018, has used his social media platform to address recent political developments and local achievements in a series of posts.
On January 13, 2026, Morelle criticized actions by the previous administration regarding the Federal Reserve Chair: “The Trump administration’s attempt to intimidate Fed Chair Jerome Powell is a blatant abuse of power and it puts real families at risk.”
The following day, on January 14, 2026, he commented on the resignation of career prosecutors: “When career prosecutors resign rather than follow corrupt orders, that tells you all you need to know. Renee Nicole Good’s family has been through enough. This kind of cruelty has no place in our government.”
Later that same day, Morelle congratulated a local high school football team: “Congratulations to the @RCSDNYS Monroe Red Jackets football team on their historic NYS Class B State Championship win. This team showed us what is possible when talent meets determination and when hard work rises above the challenges you face.”
Joseph Morelle was born in Utica, New York in 1957 and currently resides in Irondequoit. Before joining Congress in 2018 after succeeding Louise Slaughter, he served in the New York State Assembly from 1991 to 2018. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo.
