Assemblyman Steve Hawley recently spoke at the annual Police Memorial in Albany, which honors officers who have died in the line of duty over the past year. The event saw attendance from state lawmakers and Governor Kathy Hochul. Hawley, a known advocate for law enforcement, expressed his appreciation for the dedication of officers to community safety.
“Every day, law enforcement officers across our state leave their families and put on their uniforms, not knowing if they will make it home at the end of the day. These are husbands, wives, parents and siblings who put their lives on the line to keep us safe,” said Hawley. He further shared his condolences with families who have lost loved ones in service, mentioning Sergeant Thomas A. Sanfratello as an example of such sacrifice. “We are eternally grateful for their service, and we will never forget their sacrifice,” he added.
