On June 16, 2025, Morelle expressed gratitude to Rochester-based organizations for their participation in a constituent coffee hour held in Washington D.C. He emphasized the importance of their insights in strengthening the community and acknowledged the dedication of these advocates. “Grateful to the #ROC organizations who joined my constituent coffee hour in D.C. last week.”
Later that day, Morelle tweeted about hosting a Pinning Ceremony to honor local Vietnam War veterans. He described this recognition as “long overdue” and expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to acknowledge their bravery and sacrifice. “It was a privilege to host another Pinning Ceremony to honor local veterans who served in the Vietnam War.”
In another tweet posted simultaneously, Morelle invited individuals aware of unrecognized Vietnam War veterans to contact his office for future ceremonies. Joseph Morelle has been serving in Congress since 2018 after succeeding Louise Slaughter. Prior to his congressional role, he was a member of the New York State Assembly from 1991 until 2018.
